William David Planck, 71, of the Tilton community, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at the Lexington VA Medical Center. Mr. Planck was a retired dairy farmer, a Vietnam veteran, a member of the VFW and an active supporter in the community. His wife of 41 years, Mary Ann Gooding Planck, died September 28, 2009. He was born in Fleming County on November 9, 1944, to the late Paul Walker and Frances Louise Hamm Planck. David is survived by his children, Davetta (Michael) Coffey of Mount Carmel, Billy (Joy) Planck of Tilton, Becky (Jeff Craig) Story of Lawrenceburg, IN, and John David (Kelly) Planck of Mount Sterling; grandchildren, Chip Plummer, Mary Beth Plummer, Desiree Story, Sydney Brookshire, Victoria Planck, Alec Hunter, Coty Coffey, and Brandon Coffey; brothers, Melvin (Janet) Planck, Phillip (Jean) Planck, James Benny (Brenda) Planck, and Gary (Debbie) Planck; and sister, Brenda (Jackie) Harmon; a great uncle, “Russ” James (Brenda) Hamm; one very special friend, Jake (his dog); along with many, many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife and parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, Walter Allen Planck and one sister, Paulette Planck Busch. Services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, at the Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. James Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park. Military rites will be performed by the W.N. Fant American Legion Post #5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834. Visitation will be 6 – 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
