MAYSVILLE | N,elle Opal Porter Muse, 94, of Moransburg, died Thursday, June 21, 2012 at her residence.

She was the widow of Archie Roosevelt Muse who died May 12, 2006. They were married 66 years at the time of Archie’s death.

During her illness, she was able to stay in her home with the care of her two devoted sons and Hospice of Hope. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and a homemaker.

Mrs. Muse was born in Fleming County, on Oct. 5, 1917, the daughter of the late Omar E. and Leona Kirk Porter.

She is survived by her two sons, Fred (Betty) Muse and Leslie (Frances) Muse, both of Moransburg; three grandchildren, Michelle Hickerson, Terry (Kim) Muse and Timothy Muse; seven great-grandchildren, Lucas Muse, Rebekah Muse, Scottie Muse, Karston Muse, Kinzington Muse, Gabby Hickerson and Celena Hickerson; two brothers, Omar (Betty) Porter of Cincinnati, and James Porter of Lawrenceburg, Ind.; and one sister, Jenny Mae Litzinger of Germantown.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one great-grandchild, Emily Kate Muse; four brothers, Jessie Porter, Arthur Porter, Ollie Porter and Morris Porter; and one sister, Ruth McCann.

Services for Nelle Opal Muse will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 1 p.m., Monday, June 25, 2012, with Rev. Jim Robinson officiating.

Burial will be in the Charleston Bottom Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fred Muse, Leslie Muse, Terry Muse, Timmy Muse, Lucas Muse and Scottie Muse.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 11 a.m., until the hour of the service.
