Former
 Johnson County resident, Dovie Blanton McCarty, 80, died May 28, King's
 Daughters' Hospital in Ashland, KY. Mrs. McCarty was born August 14, 
1908 in Johnson County, the daughter of the late Roscoe and Darcus 
Fairchilds Blanto. She was a member of the United Baptist Church. She 
was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilson McCarty on May 11, 
1989. Surviving are 3 sons, Onley McCarty of Rosenburg, TX, Wendell 
McCarty of Louisville, and Phillip McCarty of Cynthiana; 3 daughters, 
Lovilla Schneider of Cynthiana, Phyllis Bush of Grayson, and Neva 
Adaline Copley of Ashland; 2 brothers, Flem Blanton of Prestonsburg, Rex
 Blanton of Oil Springs; one sister, Gusta McCarty of Oil Springs; 14 
grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held May 
31, in Lazear Funeral Home Chapel, Ashland. Burial was in Bowling
