Arthur Chan Pugh, age 69, of Flemingsburg, passed away Friday, March 4, 2016, at his home after an extended illness. Arthur was of the Christian faith, was a lifelong farmer and sawmill worker. He was born April 23, 1946, in Fleming County, a son of the late George W. and Anita Frances Jefferson Pugh Gulley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter Elizabeth Roberts; three sisters, Nancy Thelma Jimison, Helen Lucille Pugh Black, and Betty Ima Jean Pugh; and three brothers, Sam Pugh, William Albert Pugh, and Denzil Pugh. Arthur is survived by his wife Mabel Hamm Pugh; son, James Wesley Dotson Jr; daughters Virginia Rose Bray and Barbara Jean Montgomery; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; three sisters, Della Richmond, Flora Charles, and Patty Doyle. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday March 8, 2016, at the Boone – Nickell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pugh Family Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 - 1 PM Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Boone – Nickell Funeral Home. Rusty Hollar, Kenny Black, Donald Black, Jesse Black, James Wesley Dotson Jr., Matt Dotson and Tosha Ishmael will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Claire Hospice (222 Medical Circle, Morehead, KY 40351).
