Denzil Elwood Pugh, age 60, of Flemingsburg, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.

Denzil was of the Christian faith, and had been a lifelong farmer.

He was born December 27, 1953, in Fleming County, a son of the late George W. and Anita Frances Jefferson Pugh Gulley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Nancy Thelma Jimison, Helen Lucille Pugh Black, and Betty Ima Jean Pugh; and two brothers, Sam Pugh and William Albert Pugh

Denzil is survived by his wife Shirley Thompson Pugh; two sons, John J. (Jessica) Johnson and David A. Johnson; one brother, Arthur Pugh; three sisters, Della Richmond, Flora Charles, and Patty Doyle, and one granddaughter, Ciara Tyrice Johnson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 11, 2014, at Boone – Nickell Funeral Home with Brother Jesse Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Wooley Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 - 1 PM Thursday, December 11, 2014, at Boone – Nickell Funeral Home.
