William Albert Pugh, age 81, of Spring Road, Wallingford, passed away Monday, December 1, 2014, at his residence.

He was born August 1, 1933, in Fleming County, a son of the late George W. and Anita Frances Jefferson Pugh Gulley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, David Matthew Pugh, who passed away on August 15, 1991; three sisters, Nancy Thelma Jimison, Helen Lucille Pugh Black, and Betty Ima Jean Pugh; and one brother, Sam Pugh.

Albert is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Jamison Pugh, whom he married September 19, 1964; one son, James Pugh of Wallingford; one daughter, Leah Pugh (Gregory Dean) Hedges of Flemingsburg; two brothers, Arthur Pugh and Denzil Pugh, both of Wallingford; three sisters, Della Richmond, Flora Charles, and Patty Doyle, all of Fleming County; and two grandchildren, Keeli Anais Hedges and Katherine Reese Hedges.

Albert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a farmer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the guitar, and was of the Pentecostal faith.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2014, at the Hutton Funeral Home with Brother James Pollitt and Brother Forest Hedges officiating. Burial will follow in Pea Ridge Cemetery with full military honors by W.N. Fant American Legion Post No. 5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, December 4, 2014, at Hutton Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
