MOREHEAD - John Paul (Johnny) Reeder, age 82, of Lanark Village, Florida, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2007, at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington.

Born July 10, 1925, in Carter County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late John William and Nettie Bowen Reeder. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Vernon D. Reeder, James R. Reeder, St. Clair Reeder, and Blanchard Reeder, and two sisters, Vada Sculley and Opal Dozier.

Johnny’s wife, Hazel (Pete) Johnson Reeder, preceded him in death on March 30, 2004.

Survivors include two daughters, Pat McAdams and husband Robert of Corydon, Indiana, and Joy Reeder of Corydon, Indiana; two grandsons, Shane and Bobbie Bowman of Winchester, Kentucky, and Richard and Leslie Bowman of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; two step-great-grandchildren, Steven Isaacs and Donovan Mullins; and two sisters, Olive Morhardt of Englewood, Florida, and Nicky Reeder of Carrabelle, Florida.

Johnny was a retired Plant Superintendent from Tenneco, Inc., where he was employed for 33 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carrabelle, Florida, and was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army.

Graveside services will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2007, at Lee Cemetery with Dr. J. D. Reeder officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 6, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
