Volga resident, Haskel Blanton, 80, died Tuesday, November 15, at his residence. Mr. Blanton, was born July 18, 1908 in Johnson County, the son of Willie and Lola Colvin Blanton. He was a retired miner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Luda Blanton, in June 1972. Surviving are three sons, Tommy, of Flat Gap, and Jack and Kendrick both of Volga; two daughters, Roberta Blanton, and Linda Esham both of Georgetown; one brother Frank Blanton, of Sitka; and 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Funeral services held Thursday, November 17 in Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Harold Salyers and John Fred Ramey officiating. Burial was in family cemetery at Volga. Paintsville Herald
