J.K. BLANTON, VOLGA RESIDENT, DIES DECEMBER 10
James
Kendrick Blanton, 62, resident of Volga, died from the effects of a
stroke Tuesday, December 10, in Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland.
He had been ill for the past seven years. The son of Sanford and Sarah
Ann Blanton, he was born September 6, 1895 at Volga. Prior to his
illness he engaged in farming. Survivors include his widow, Lizzie
Blanton; two sons, James Douglas, Ashland, Harry Sanford Blanton, Volga;
one daughter, Mrs. Hershell McKenzie, Ashland,; and the following
brothers and sisters; George Blanton, Volga; Albert Blanton, Ironton,
Ohio; Mrs. Oak Williams, Red Bush; Mrs. Edgar Lemaster, Wheelersburg,
Ohio; Mrs. Rexford Trimble, Volga; Mrs. Vernie Butler, city. Funeral
services were conducted from the home at 12:00 Thursday with Rev. Lonza
Reed and Rev. Jimmy Blanton as officiating ministers. Burial was made
in the Blanton Cemetery at Volga.
