Carolyn Virginia Smoot Williams, 59, of Bluestone-Bratton Branch Road passed away Sunday, July 27, 2008 at her home.

She was born on June 7, 1949 in Fleming County, Kentucky, a daughter of Lillie Dyer Smoot and the late Hildreth Smoot.

Mrs. Williams was a former employee of Ponderosa and Cutter's. She was of the Pentecostal Faith and enjoyed going to flea markets and estate auctions, quilting, canning and gardening.

In addition to her father, Hildreth Smoot, she was preceded in death by two infant sisters.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, James 'Bill' Williams, retired Morehead State University building and groundskeeper, whom she married on January 1, 1972, of Morehead, her mother, Lillie Dyer Smoot of Fleming County, one son, Jamie Williams of Morehead, one daughter, Susie Romans and her husband, Chuck of Morehead, one brother, David Smoot of Ringos Mill, two grandchildren, Dennis Pennington, Jr. and Laymond Porter Curtis and several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 30, 2008 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Redmon officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Laymond Curtis, Dennis Pennington, Carl Ingle, Scotty Dyer, Jerry Williams and James Ray Smoot.
