Paul S. Spangler, 81 of Hayward, CA passed away peacefully, Dec. 4, 2008 at home. He was born Sept. 22, 1927 in Pittsburg, KS to Veere and Lula Butts Spangler. HE grew up in Kansas working on farms and the railroad. He was drafted into the service in 1946 and was discharged in CA, where he remained the rest of his life. He drove trucks for forty years, hauling freight for PMT and pickups out of the old General Motors assembly plant for Insured Transporters. He retired in 1994 from PSB Trucking, where he worked as a hostler at Ross Warehouse. He was married to Reva Bridges for 21 years and was remarried on July 14, 1972, to Edna Stephens Rogalsky. In retirement, they enjoyed casino trips and making and selling woodcrafts. They also thoroughly enjoyed country and bluegrass music groups playing at the pizza parlors. Paul initiated a monthly music jam at the mobile home clubhouse where they moved in 1999. He is survived by his wife, Edna; his daughters, Brenda Clark and husband Dan, Nancy Blackwell and husband Rick; son Tom Spangler and wife Diane; step-sons Ronald Rogalsky and wife M.J, Roger Rogalsky and wife Sandy; daughter-in-law Roni Spangler; two brothers, Noel and Don Spangler. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Timothy and Byron Spangler and one sister, Sondra Wininger.

A memorial service was held at the Gregorian Manor Mobile Home Park Clubhouse on Saturday, December 13, 2008 from Noon to 3pm.
