Daniel P. Stanfield, age 82, of Swift Street, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2007, at the Life Care Center in Morehead.

He was born August 20, 1925, in Fleming County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late Thomas Plaz and Minnie Sproles Stanfield. His wife, Rosetta Hamm Stanfield, preceded him in death on September 30, 2004.

He is survived by one brother, Melvin Stanfield of Lubbock, Texas; one niece, Sheila Randel; two great-nephews, Brandon and Brian Hickey; and loving friends and caregivers, Donna Payne, Jake Payne, and Melissa Stacy, all of Morehead, Kentucky.

Mr. Stanfield served in the U.S. Army Infantry during World War II and the Korean War. He was awarded a Purple Heart.

Graveside services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2007, at the Wallingford Cemetery in Fleming County. Full military rites will be conducted by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday, September 10, 2007, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
