Mary Salyer Dies While Attending Brother's Funeral Mary Salyer, 62, Volga, died suddenly Sunday, May 16 while attending the funeral of her brother, Oliver P. Blanton. While Mrs. Salyer had been in ill health for the past year, her death came unexpectedly. Mrs. Salyer was born at Volga December 16, 1885, the daughter of S J. and Sarah Ann Blanton. She was a member of the United Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons, Virgil of Lucasville, Ohio, and Sanford Hendricks of Volga, and two step-children, Mary Wellman of Louisa and Hoke Sayler, Lucasville, Ohio. Surviving also are four sisters, Mrs. Virgil Williams, Red Bush; Mrs. Delia Lemaster, Portsmouth, Ohio; Mrs. Bertha Trimble, Volga, and five brothers, George, Willie, John F. and Kendrick, all of Volga and Albert of South Point, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted at the home by Rev. Lonan Reed Tuesday, May 18 and burial was in the family cemetery. Paintsville Herald Thursday 5-20-1948
