Brother Walter Allen Tackett, age 75, of Cranston Road, Morehead, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2017, at the Pioneer Trace Nursing Home in Flemingsburg. Born April 20, 1941, in Morehead, he was a son of the late Abner Calvin and Rosa Arizona Littleton Tackett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Kaye Crawford Tackett; three brothers, Elwood (Dorothy), Ernie (Marjorie), and Aaron (Francis) Tackett; and one sister, Delona (Norman) Waltz. He is survived by one brother, Elvis and Betty Tackett of Germantown, Ohio; one sister-in-law, Francis Tackett of Blue Spring, Missouri; three brothers-in-law, Roy Bradley, Rick Crawford, and John Crawford, all of Morehead; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Joca Faye Slone of Olive Hill. Brother Walter was a former construction worker for D. L. Braughler Company and attended the New Hope Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking and when he was able he enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing. The family would like to give a special thank you to Randy Waltz, his nephew, for all the loving care and assistance he gave Walter. Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Elder Cephas Littleton and Elder Noel Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers: Randy Waltz, Larry Littleton, Cephas Littleton, Jr., Phillip Littleton, Stephan Armstrong, and Anthony Bradley. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
