Clyde Franklin 'Frank' Thompson, age 68, of Big Perry Road, Morehead, Kentucky, won his battle over cancer and went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 28, 2012, at his residence.

He was born September 22, 1944, in Rowan County, Kentucky, to the late Clyde and Mamie Glover Thompson.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Wilma Kitchen Thompson, who passed away July 30, 2003; one son, Kenneth Franklin Thompson; and three sisters, Mary Sue Dailey, Bessie Stacey, and Ithel Sloan.

Frank is survived by two daughters, Sandra Basford and Paul and Rhonda Logan and husband Darrel; six grandchildren, Brandi (Chris) Traylor, Cara (Chad) Clair, Chad Ison, Rachel (fiancé Cody Kirby) D. J. Logan, and Kane Basford; two great grandchildren, Xoe and Eden Clair and 'Baby Girl' Traylor due in January, all of Morehead, Kentucky.

He is also survived by one brother, David Thompson of Mansfield, Ohio; three sisters, Mae Collins of Mansfield, Ohio, Mildred Holbrook of Niles, Ohio, and Ruth Miller of Benton, Kentucky; a close special niece, Diane Whitt of Morehead, Kentucky, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Frank was an expert boat builder and mechanic and enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Andy Lands officiating. Burial will follow in the Thompson Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Frankie Butler, William Logan, Bobby Crace, Brian Plank, Todd Gulley, and Duane DeHart.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
