 Blanton, 56, resident of Oil Springs, died in a local hospital at 4:30 

a.m. Monday, March 19, after an illness of six months.  The daughter of 

Roscoe and Darcus Fairchild Blanton, she was born October 11, 1905, and 

had been a lifelong resident of this county.  She was a member of the 

United Baptist Church. Surviving are two brothers, Flem Blanton, 

Prestonsburg, Rex Blanton, Oil Springs; two sisters, Mrs. Woodrow 

McCarty, Ashland, Mrs. Clyde McCarty, Oil Springs.  Funeral services 

were conducted at 1 p.m. today from the Low Gap United Baptist Church 

with Lonza Reed and Buell Ferguson as officiating ministers.  Burial was
