James Edward Wallace, age 84, of Flemingsburg Road, Morehead, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington.

He was born May 8, 1929, in Rowan County, Kentucky, a son of the late Henry Cleveland Wallace and Elizabeth Jane Jones Wallace. Maude Trent Wallace, mother of Randy and Danny; and nine brothers and sisters also preceded him in death.

James is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Johnson Gibbs Wallace, whom he married July 10, 1982; three sons, Jeffery Keith Wallace of Clearfield and his mother, Ina Jean Black, Randall Wayne "Randy" Wallace of Morehead, and Danny Lane Wallace of Haines City, Florida; three stepsons, Michael Clifford Gibbs of Hastings, Florida, Sandy Ray Gibbs of Lexington, and Timothy Alan Gibbs of Aberdeen, Washington; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; one great grandson; and three step great grandchildren.

Other survivors include two brothers, Clinton Wallace and Norman Wallace, both of Clearfield, and several nieces and nephews.

James was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a former employee of Lee Clay Products Co., and a retired Rowan County school bus driver. He attended Charity Free Will Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Mt. Pisgah Christian Church with the Rev. Donald Wayne Hale and Brother Robert Kidd officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Mt. Pisgah Christian Church.
