Mrs. Lorene Whisman Brickles, 68, of Island Fork Road, Morehead, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at her home.

She was born on April 28, 1941 in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of Frank Whisman and the late Lucy Plank Whisman.

Mrs. Brickles was a homemaker. She attended Sharkey Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed quilting, gardening and attending church.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Brickles, who passed away in 1994, her step-mother, Mary Mauk Whisman and two sisters, Rosemary Huntsman and Ethel Brewster.

Survivors include her daughter, Lucille Kay Mauk and her husband, Delmas of Morehead, her father, Frank Whisman of Morehead, two sisters, Jane Sparks of Morehead and Kay Conn of Olive Hill, one granddaughter, Amanda Michele Holbrook of Olive Hill and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, February 11, 2010 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Fouch, Jr. and Rev. Dwayne Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Fred Mauk Cemetery in Elliott County. Visitation is after 5:00 P.M. Wednesday.

Pallbearers will be James Holbrook, Delmas Mauk, Frank Mauk, Buddy Littleton, Shane Mauk and Dwayne Slone.
