Charlie (Charles) Ray White, age 70, of White Road, Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2009, at his residence.

He was born April 1, 1939, in Rowan County, Kentucky, and was the son of the late George Washington (Jonah) and Gladys Emma Branham White. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Mary White; a son, Troy Lee White; two sisters, Carolyn Blevins and Rosa Logan; and two brothers, Paul White and James H. (Tommy) White.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Karen Rosita Burton White, whom he wed September 6, 1958; two sons, Phillip Ray White and wife Barbara Ann Perry White of Ringos Mill, Kentucky and Charles Russell White and wife Shelly Lynn Ginter White of Olive Hill, Kentucky; two daughters, Gladys May Layne and husband Billy Layne and Lisa Kay Henderson and husband Landon Dakota 'Cody' Henderson all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; nine grandchildren; and one great grandson.

Other survivors include one brother, David White of Morehead, Kentucky, and three sisters, Hildreth Tucker of Russell Springs, Kentucky, Opal Dotson of Hebron, Kentucky, and Kay Fugate of Lafayette, Indiana.

Charlie was a carpenter and tobacco farmer, and member of the Church of God.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Sardis Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his nephews. Visitation is after 5 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
