Roscoe Blanton, 71, Kenwood, KY, died in a local hospital, Wednesday,December 9, following an illness of a few days. Born June 2, 1882, he was the son of George and Angiline Nichols Blanton. He was a farmer and a member of the United Baptist Church. He was preceded in death July 23, 1953 by his wife Dorcas Fairchild Blanton. Surviving are two sons, Flem Blanton of Kenwood, and Rex Blanton, VanLear; three daughters, Mrs. Woodrow McCarty, Cannonsburg; Mrs. Clyde McCarty, Manila; and Ruie Blanton, Kenwood. Also surviving are one brother, Edgar Blanton, Idaho, O.; and three sisters, Mrs. Lydia McCain, Cable, Ohio; Mrs. Gilla Tackett, Cedarsville, Ohio; and Mrs.Ethel Williams, London, Ohio. Funeral Services were held Saturday at the home with Revs. Lonza Reed, Dona Conley, and Oscar McCarty. Burial was made in the family cemetery under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home.
