Norma Jewel Blevins Hamm, 87, passed away Sept. 8, 2008, in Decatur, Ala.
She was born March 9, 1921, in Ashland, Ky., to the late Watt Blevins and Martha Jane Brown Blevins.
She is survived by two sons, Jimmie Heisler Sr. of Decatur and
David Hamm of Somerville, Fla.; two daughters, Deborah Gibson of Grandy,
N.C., and Jane Reed of Decatur; 12 grandchildren, Krista Hill of
Cleveland, Tenn., Jimmie Heisler Jr. of Elba, Ala., Desiree Hamm of Nags
Head, N.C., David Hamm of Nags Head, Danielle Hamm of Nags Head, Paul
Hamm of Nags Head, Norma (Wendy) Meadows of Powells Point, N.C., George
Trumps of Baltimore, Md., Edith Smith of Grandy, Keith Gibson of Powells
Point, Shannon Rutledge of Powells Point and Stephen Reed of Decatur;
21 great-grandchildren and one on the way; a great-great-grandchild; two
brothers, Rollie Blevins of Olive Hill, Ky., and Gerald Blevins of
Gainesville, Fla.; and two sisters, Eual Oney of Raceland, Ky., and
Jackie Smith of Flatwoods, Ky.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Hollomon-Brown
Funeral Home, Indian River Chapel in Virginia Beach, Va., by the Rev.
William Samuel Marriner. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
