MAYSVILLE -- Frederick Addison Hamm, 76, of Maysville died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at the Western Kentucky VA Center in Hanson.

He was born in Maysville on Aug. 4, 1933, the son of the late Ollie Edward Hamm and Irene Brown Hamm.

Mr. Hamm graduated from Maysville High School in 1951 as salutatorian of his class. He served in the U.S. Army (June 1953-May 1955) and had a tour of duty in Trieste, Italy. He was employed by the Browning Manufacturing Company for many years. Later he became a licensed realtor and was employed by Duncan Real Estate Agency. He was an amateur photographer and always shared his wonderful gift with family and friends. A life long Baptist, he was a member at First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and member of the choir. Currently he was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Maysville where he continued to serve quietly and faithfully. Fred's most recent honor was to be commissioned a Kentucky Colonel in October 2005.

He is survived by his only sister, Janet Marie Whiteley and her husband, James of Paducah; his niece, Sherry Olsen and husband, Chris of Seattle, Wash.; his nephew, Dr. James Whiteley Jr.and wife, Laure'of Louisville; his great-niece, Mallie Whiteley and great-nephews, Kenton Whiteley, Blake Whiteley, Adam Olsen and Alex Olsen.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Edward Hamm and Kenneth Douglas Hamm.

Services for Fred Hamm will be held at the Knox and Brothers Funeral Home at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, with Rev. Robert Donovan officiating.

Burial will be in the Maysville Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., on Sunday at the funeral home.
