MAYSVILLE - Mae Moneyhon Bean Hamm passed away Friday, Aug. 22, at
the Maysville Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility where she had been a
long time resident. She was 91 years old.
Preceding her in death were her husbands, Walter Bean who died in
1979 and Henry Hamm who died in 1996. Also all three of her brothers,
Carl Moneyhon, Ed Moneyhon, Tom Moneyhon and her two sisters, Julia
Evans and Isabelle Jacobs preceded her in death.
She was born in Bracken County, the fifth child of the late Nick
and Bessie Overturf Moneyhon but lived most of her life in Mason County,
where she was a homemaker and substitute teacher in the Mason County
School System. She was a member of the Lewisburg Homemakers and the
pianist/organist for the Lewisburg Baptist Church for many years. Later
in life, she became a member of the Aberdeen Baptist Church and the
Mason County Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her four children, Mona Bean of Mount Olivet,
Charles Bean and his wife, Pat of Fort Pearce, Fla., Tom Bean of Fort
Wayne Ind., and Anne Bean Chihade and her husband, Tawfig of Atlanta,
Ga. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Services for Mae will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Brell and Son Funeral Home the Rev. Timothy Storms officiating.
Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Dover.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Aug, 26 from 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home.
