Mrs. Bessie Trent Hamm, 76, of Paintsville, Kentucky formerly of Morehead, passed away Monday, November 21, 2011 in the Highlands Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg.

She was born on January 19, 1935 in Elliott County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Elick and Gracie Slone Trent.

Mrs. Hamm was a retired housekeeper for The Larry Fannin Family and retired from Cowden Manufacturing. She was a member of the Elliottville Baptist Church and enjoyed watching movies, boating, the outdoors and spending time with her grandkids.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lee “Duke” Hamm, who passed away on January 2, 1999, an infant son, Kenneth Lee Hamm, Jr., two brothers, Clint Trent and Clell Trent and seven sisters, Essie Kidd, Verna Kegley, Betty Kegley, Ina Woodrow, Ines Scott, Linnie Reynolds and Lillie Adkins.

Survivors include one son, Bill (Selinda) Hamm of Paintsville, step-daughter, Rita Gibson of New Concord, one brother, Arnold Trent of Morehead, one sister, Dina Stegall of Elliott County, two grandchildren, Anthony Lee Hamm and Monica Lynn Hamm Queen, four great-grandchildren, Kirsten Shelia Hamm, Kenneth Anthony Lee Hamm, Alexander Grayson Queen and Morgan Queen and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 26, 2011 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Pastor Willie Sturgill officiating.

Burial will be in the Lee Cemetery.

Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Friday.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
