Dorothy Anne Blanton Bayes passed away November 25, 2009, at the Atrium Medical Center in Middletown, OH where she had been a patient.

She was a former resident of Hamilton, OH and Camden, OH and spent several years at Otterbein Retirement Center before moving to the Inn at the Renaissance a few weeks ago.

She was a member of the Paint Union Association of United Baptist Churches for over sixty years. Her passion for many years had been gardening, raising many varieties of roses and irises at her home in Camden.

She was born July 4, 1929 in Paintsville, KY, the daughter of Tom and Dixie (Blanton) Blanton. On May 1, 1947 she married Glocus H. Bayes. He preceded her in death on February 18, 2002.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Charles Blanton.

Mrs. Bayes leaves two daughters, Dianne (Bruce) Smiley of Camden, OH and Sally Foxx of Columbus, OH; granddaughters, Elizabeth (Mark) Adams of Gratis, OH, Cherilyn (Dana Johnson) Smiley of Trenton, OH, Sutton Foxx of Lexington, KY and Sydney Foxx of Tauranga, New Zealand, and three great grandchildren, PFC Marissa Adams of Ft. Sam Houston, TX, Logan Adams of Gratis and Camaryn Jae Hartley, Trenton. She is also survived by two sisters, Helen (Bob) Blanton, Belva, WVA and Patricia (Wendell) Greene, Brookville, IN and many nieces and nephews.
