Helen Jean Marshall Pendland, 83, of Flemingsburg, wife of Thurl Pendland, Jr., passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Fleming County Hospital. Helen was born on August 31, 1933, the daughter of the late Dudley and Minnie Rolph Beckett. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Helen attended the Flemingsburg First Church of God. She loved to clean and collect pictures of her family, and she also loved tending to her flowers. Besides her husband, she is survived by: five sons, Kenny Marshall, Ricky (Melissa) Marshall, Randy (Mona) Marshall, Daryl (Angie) Marshall, Rex (Carol) Marshall; four daughters, Joanie (Bobby) Underwood, Dana (Raymond) Evans, Lynda Hopper, and Betty (Robin) Carpenter; two daughters-in-law, Vicie Marshall, and Barbara Marshall; 34 grandchildren; and 58 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Chester Marshall, who died December 8, 1978; two sons, Danny Marshall, and Terry Marshall; a daughter, Zina Evans; and two granddaughters, Amanda Jo Evans, and Melissa Hopper. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Carpenter-Fritz & Vice Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Larry T. Ingram. Visitation will be 6-9 pm Friday, December 16th at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel Marshall, Brian Marshall, Junior Hopper, Matthew Hopper, Steven Underwood, Andy Evans, and Robert Carpenter. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Underwood, Christopher Marshall, and Jason Marshall.
