Virginia O. Beckett, 89, died at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2010 in Marion General Hospital, Marion. She was born in Muses Mills, Kentucky to the late Herbert and Maude (Ferris) Hinton. She married Archie Beckett April 20, 1938. He preceded her in death March 16, 1993.

Virginia retired from Bell Fibre after 31 years. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include a son, Russell (Priscilla) Becket, Marion; sisters, Helen (James) Hal, Muses Mills, Ky., Margaret (Willis) McRoberts, Ewing, Ky., Juanita (Bill) Riggle, Manchester, Ohio, Mary (Hoover) Hensley,

New Carlisle, Ohio, Joyce Newsome, Flemingsburg, Ky.; grandchildren, Pam Davis, Marion, Tammy Norris, Jonesboro, David Shane Brammer, Ohio, Kelley (Daniel) Fagin, Erianger, Ky., Kimberly Beach, Marion; eight great grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie Beckett; a daughter, Katy O'Moore; a son, David Beckett; grandson, Ken Beckett; brother, Junior Hinton; two sisters, Lillian Conn and Lola Crawford.

Services are at 1 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2010 in Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, with the Rev. J. Robert Harris officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion, IN

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2010 in the funeral home.
