David F. Thompson, Sr., 66, of Mansfield, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 1, 2016, following a lengthy illness. David was born on November 18, 1950 in Morehead, Kentucky to the late Clyde and Mamie (Glover) Thompson. He was employed at Mansfield Foundry (Ohio Brass) his whole life until closing of business. David enjoyed restoring cars and loved to go fishing. He is survived by two children, David F. Thompson, Jr. and Heather Thompson Blair, both of Mansfield; one step-daughter, Betty (Darren) Stevens of Mansfield; five grandchildren, Kymberly, Jordan, Blake, Destany, and Ariel; two step-grandchildren, Clarissa and Darren; two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Savannah; siblings, Mae Collins of Mansfield, Ruth Miller of Benton, KY, and Mildred Holbrook of Niles; and numerous nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara Thompson; three sisters, Bessie Stacy, Mary Sue Daily, and Wanda Ithel Sloan; and one brother, Frankie Thompson. Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield and from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Northcutt and Sons Funeral Home, 400 Fraley Dr., Morehead, KY. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Northcutt and Sons Funeral home. Burial will be at Thompson Cemetery in Morehead, KY.
