R. Victor White, Age 79 of U.S. 60 East, Morehead, Kentucky passed away Saturday evening, November 24, 2012 in the King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky after an illness of several weeks.

He was born in Rowan County, Kentucky on January 4, 1933 to the late Ray Lee White and Ethel Mae Hall White.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Fortune White and a sister Ruth Smith.

Victor was a well known and respected community leader and businessman who along with other citizens and businessmen were instrumental in fundraising to establish St. Claire Regional Medical Center.

A fourth generation lumberman, he owned and operated the Ray L. White and Sons Lumber Company in Morehead for many years. He was a 1952 graduate of Morehead High School, The National Hardwood Lumber Association School in Memphis, Tennessee, a former member of the Morehead Jaycees and a member of the Morehead Masonic Lodge No. 654.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morehead and was a believer in Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour.

Survivors include his wife, Lyda Sluss White whom he married on May 8, 1953. One son, Roy Allen White of Morehead. One daughter, Virginia Ann White Klaus and her husband Jay Fredric Klaus of Burke, Virginia.

One brother, Harold White of Morehead, Two sisters, Becky Carter of Morehead and Aileen Moore of Vanceburg, Kentucky.

Five Grandchildren, Rachel McKenzie Klaus, Christian Jay Klaus, Nora Lynn White, Elizabeth Ann Tolentino and Scarlett Elaine White.

Two Great-Grandchildren, Elizabeth K. Tolentino and Pheobe Jean Fuggit.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 28, 2012 in the chapel of the Lane-Stucky-Gray Funeral Home with Rev. Don Mantooth officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lee Cemetery.

Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.

PallBearers will be Roy White, Richard White, Mike White, Gene David White, Jay Klaus and Joe Carter.

Honorary Pall Bearers will be Elaine White, Rachel Klaus, Lynn White, Ann Tolentino, Pheobe Fuggit, Elizabeth Tolentino and Christian Klaus.
