Glen Franklin Whisman, age 79, of Rock Fork Road, Morehead, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017, at his home. Born July 15, 1937, in Rowan County, he was a son of the late Earnest and Shrilda Whisman Davis. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, James Whisman, Harold Cadle Whisman and Charles David Whisman, and two sisters, Ina Mae Plank and Mary Francis Hamm. Glen is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen Rigdon Whisman, whom he married October 13, 1960; one son, Jerry (Renita) Whisman of Morehead; one daughter, Linda (Raymond) Bryant of Paris; five grandchildren, Christopher Todd Bryant, Timothy Ross (Amanda) Bryant, Jacob Glen Bryant, Derrick Allen (Cassie) Whisman, and Tracy Lynn (Jared) Whisman; and two great grandchildren, Andrew Ross Bryant and Ray Lynn Stephens. He is also survived by two sisters, Bonnie Mason of Morehead and Juanita Sweeney of Georgetown; two brothers, Woodrow Whisman of Salt Lick and Jack Whisman of Morehead; and several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was a school bus driver for 18 years and a farmer and logger his whole life. He was a member of Fox Valley Community Church. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Darrell Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in the Whisman Family Cemetery on Rock Fork Road. Pallbearers: Christopher Todd Bryant, Timothy Ross Bryant, Jaob Glen Bryant, Derrick Allen Whisman, David 'Bubby' Whisman, and Jessie Wade Griffit.
