Judy Ann Thompson, age 71, of Water Avenue, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at her home.

Born July 19, 1941, in Cedar Grove, West Virginia, her parents were Addie K. Fannin of Morehead, Kentucky, and the late Robert Hager. Besides her father, she was preceded in death by a half-brother, Jim Bill Fannin; sister- in-law and brother-in-law, Lucille and Ray Walters, and sister-in-law, Zelma Furnish.

Judy's husband of 51 years, Jesse L. Thompson, passed away April 6, 2012.

In addition to her mother, Judy is survived by two daughters, Leigh Ann Williams and husband Tony and Lisa Knipp and husband Billy, all of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and three grandchildren, Alex Williams, Tori Elizabeth Knipp, and Karilee Knipp.

Other survivors include a half-sister, Cindy Trent and husband Bobby, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Mary Jo Thompson, all of Morehead, Kentucky; brother-in-law, Bill Furnish of Hillsboro, Ohio; sister-in-law, Shirley Spencer and companion Ben Cothern of Shalimar, Florida; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Judy had been the plant manager for Cowden Mfg., Big Yank Corporation, Austin Apparel, where she was instrumental in securing a new building, and retired from Carhartt in 2006 after more than fifty years in clothing manufacturing. She was a former member of the Morehead-Rowan County Jayceettes, and was especially active during the years that Jesse served as president of the Jaycees and as a member of the Board of Directors. She enjoyed her flowers, listening to music, working in her garden, shopping with family and friends, and her beloved dogs. Judy was a member of Johnson First Church of God.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon Friday, March 29, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Dr. Gary Furnish and Brent Furnish officiating. Burial will follow in Bowen Chapel Cemetery in Carter County.

Pallbearers will be her grandson, nephews, and great nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Vada Lou Henderson, Pam Adkins, Connie Gardner, Janice Vanhook, Ermine Hogge, Susie Fultz, and Joan Sturgill.

Visitation is from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
