DALE E. KNAUER

Dale E. Knauer, 55, died at 1:54 a.m. Saturday in Greenfield Area Medical Center in Greenfield, OH.

He was born in Marion, IN to the late Harold E. and Evelyn J. (Bradford) Knauer.

He retired in 1999 from Greenfield Exempted Village Schools where he was a performing arts teacher/director. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Greenfield.

Survivors include son, Joshua Knauer, Greenfield; seven foreign exchange students, Gorm Jensen and Mads Anderson, both of Denmark, Matthias Blank and Elmar Kuhn, both of Germany, Javi Saiz, Spain, Cornelia Minder, Switzerland, and Seung Mo Jang, South Korea; a brother, John David Knauer, Rockledge, FL; a sister, Kathyrn A. (Randall G.) Steele, Malabar, FL; a niece, Teresa A. Wilson, Warner Robbins, GA; a nephew, Robert L. Hainlen, St. Cloud, FL; and longtime friend, Michael Mattern, Greenfield, OH.

He also was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Kay Knauer, who died Sept. 6, 2001; a brother, Frederick L. Knauer; a sister, Linda Lou Knauer; and a nephew, Anthony D. Knauer.

Services are 6 p.m. Tuesday in First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Jacquelyn Pinkowski officiating. Graveside services are at noon Wednesday in Glen Cove Cemetery, at Knightstown, IN.

Visitation is from 2 p.m. until services Tuesday at the church.
