Oburn Baker, age 89, passed away at his home with his family by his side Monday evening, November 5, 2012, at 6:35 p.m.

Mr. Baker was born July 30, 1923, in Carter County, Ky., to the late Dan and Kathleen Qualls Baker.

He was a veteran of the United States Army serving his Country during World War II. Mr. Baker was employed with General MotorsCompany in Mansfield Ohio for 27 years. He was also a member of the Vanceburg Christian Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Thelma Curtis Baker in 1988, and a sister Malissa Ann Dehart.

Surviving is his wife, Gladys Kegley Lykins Baker of Vanceburg, KY., two daughters, Karen (Michael) Bocka of Galion, OH., and Martha Kathleen Baker of Lexington, OH., one sister- Lou (Osborne) Caudill of Crestline, OH., one step-son, Glenn D. (Alice) Gilbert of Vanceburg, KY., one step-grandson, one step-great-grandson, five grandchildren, and seven-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 7, 2012, at the Gaydos Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Cox Jr. officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 8, 2012, at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Crestline, OH., with Pastor Rick McCartney officiating.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
