Hazel B. Hamm, 93, of Eaton, died Friday, May 28, 2004, at Vancrest Health Care Center in Eaton.

Born April 5, 1911, at Brookville, Ind., she was the daughter of Irvin and Vera (Hustead) Bennett. She was a 1929 graduate of Lanier High School near West Alexandria, and attended Miami Jacobs Business College in Dayton for two years. She was a legal secretary in Dayton for eight years; and had owned and operated Arcadia Bowling Lanes in Eaton with her husband from 1952 to 1975. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Eaton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Deannie Bennett.

Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Joseph O. Hamm; son, Stephen B. Hamm of Yellow Springs; daughters and son-in-law, Barbara L. 'Barb' Weadick of Miamisburg and Elizabeth A. 'Liz' and Donald E. Smith of Eaton; grandchildren, Mark J. (Lisa) Weadick, Andrew D. (Shari) Weadick, Dr. Patrick D. Weadick, Melissa K. (Larry) Burkett and Deron E. (Angela) Smith; great-grandchildren, Paul Weadick, Brenna Weadick, Ben Smith, Jake Smith, Hannah Weadick, Will Weadick, Lindsey Burkett, Ryan Burkett, Tyler Burkett, Laura Parker, Jenna Smith and twins Jakob and Alivia Smith; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, at Barnes Funeral Home-Eaton Chapel, 220 E. Main St., with the Rev. Lillian Gillespie officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
