Billy M. Anderson, 78, former Sunnyside resident passed away on Friday, October 23, 2009 at his home in Elma, WA.

Bill was born on September 28, 1931 in Galena, Kansas the son of Charlie and Pearl (Hamm) Anderson. Bill received his education in Kansas. Bill served in the United States Navy and Army.

Following his military service Bill returned to Sunnyside, WA, where he met and later married LaVeta Rogers in 1952.

Bill worked for the U&I Sugar Plant in Toppenish, WA. Bill worked on the construction of many dams on the Columbia River for Mid Mountain Construction.

In 1979 Bill moved to Elma, WA, where he founded M and L Ice Business.

He was a former member of the Sunnyside Eagles and V.F.W. Bill enjoyed race cars and was a driver at the Sunny Grand Speed Way in Sunnyside, WA.

He cherished time spent with his grandchildren and loved to remodel houses. Many Saturday nights were spent at the Star Light Drive Inn in Sunnyside with a car load of kids, a gallon of A&W Root Beer and homemade popcorn.
