PLATTE CITY, Mo. Evelyn R. Hamm, 96, passed away Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, at the Hillview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Platte City. Evelyn was born Feb. 5, 1922, in Dearborn, Missouri, to John and Stella May (Foster) Cline. She was raised in the Dearborn area, where she graduated from high school. She was a faithful longtime member of the Camden Point Baptist Church. Evelyn married Milford Tipton Hamm on June 1, 1940, in St. Joseph. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked for many years as a cook for the elementary school in Camden Point, and the high school in Dearborn. Evelyn was a member of the Living History Group at North Platte Elementary and enjoyed raising flowers, collecting dishes, and she made doll clothing for orphaned dolls. She loved her family and was especially fond of the times she spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; and her half-brothers, Leo and Harlan Redden. She is survived by: her son, Larry (Janet) Hamm of Braymer, Missouri; her daughter, Karen (Steve) Kubly, of Camden Point, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Ellis Cline; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. A visitation will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, at the Camden Point Baptist Church; followed by a 3 p.m. funeral service. Interment will follow at the Dearborn Cemetery.
