Services At Red Bush For State Road Foreman Oka L. Williams, 58, Red Bush, a foreman of the State Highway Department, died in a Huntington hospital at 5:00 a. m. Sunday, September 13. He had been in ill health for about one year, but his death was unexpected. Mr. Williams was a member of a prominent Johnson County family. He was a son of the lare Marcus K. and Missouri Webb Williams, and was born on April 20, 1895. He had been affiliated with the Flat Gap Masonic Lodge for more than 25 years. Surviving are his wife, Virgie Blanton Williams, three daughters, Mrs. Edna Mae Scott, Laramie, Wyoming, Mrs. Ilene Bailey, New Boston, O., Miss Floine Williams, Red Bush; one brother, Virgil Williams, Red Bush, and two sisters, Mrs. George T. Turner, Sciotoville, Ohio and Mrs. W. W. Lowder, Idaho, Ohio. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a. m. today at the family residence by Elders Lonza Reed and T. J. Bailey. Burial was made in the family cemetery at Red Bush under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home. Paintsville Herald Wednesday September 16, 1953 OKA L. WILLIAMS DEPARTS THIS LIFE Oka L. Willisms, was born April 20, 1895, and departed this life September 13, 1953, age 58 years, 4 months, and 23 days. He was the son of Marcus and Missouri Webb Williams. He was married to Virgie Blanton, May 29, 1920. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Edna Mae Scott of Laramie, Wyoming, Mrs. Illene Bailey of Portsmouth, Ohio, and Floine, at home. Besides his wife and three children, he is survived by one brother, Virgil Williams, of Red Bush and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Turner of Sciotoville, Ohio, Mrs. Mae Lowder of Idaho, Ohio, and a host of other relatives and friends. He was a veteran of World War I and a member of the Flat Gap Masonic Lodge. He had been in ill health for almost a year, but bore his suffering with Christian patience, and we are assured from the testimony he left a short time before death that his suffering is over and his soul is sweetly resting in the paradise of God.
