Clara B. Reeder, age 83, resident of Shelby died Friday, April 6, 2012 in Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.

Born July 13, 1928 in Ashland, Kentucky to Bernard and Rosa (Garvin) Collins, she had been a Shelby resident since 1961. Mrs. Reeder was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Shelby where she loved to work with the children, went on Work & Witness trips and volunteered for the Christmas Help Line. In her earlier years Mrs. Reeder was an employee of the Nu-Way dry cleaners in Portsmouth. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and crafts.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Peterson of Shelby and Debbie (Rick) Hoover of Wooster; three grandchildren, Trent Peterson, Jodi (Brian) Sands and Jennifer Hoover; one brother, Robert (Myrtle) Collins of Brunswick, Ohio; one sister Ruth Sears of Sacramento, California; Sister-in-law, Alice Neff of Wheelersburg, Oh., nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard C. Reeder in 2000, two brothers, Henry and Belmer Collins and one sister, Hazel Koenig.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday April 10, 2012 at the Church of the Nazarene. Reverend Lester Champer will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the Barkdull Funeral Home on Monday from 5-7 P.M.. Memorial expressions may be made to the Church of the Nazarene 169 Mansfield Avenue, Shelby, Ohio.
