Virginia Edith Sparks Reeder, age 95, of Little Perry Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, January 8, 2013, at her residence.

She was born January 20, 1917, in Rowan County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Charles Alfred and Amelia Ann Fletcher Adams Sparks. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Edna McKinney, Pauline Sturgill, Marie Nickols, and four brothers, Reuben Adams, Ivan Sparks, Elmer Sparks, and Virgil Sparks.

Edith's husband, Chester Elmo Reeder, passed away on February 7, 1990, and a son, Jerry Michael Reeder on September 27, 2012.

Mrs. Reeder is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, George Ann and W. G. Bailey, Gaythal and Bill Hall, and Charlene and Ben Jackson, all of Morehead, Kentucky; one son, Guy Mitchell Reeder of Jeffersonville, Indiana; one sister, Fay Littleton of Franklin, Ohio; 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Reeder retired from Morehead State University, where she had been a cashier in the student center. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Dr. J. D. Reeder officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Ben Jackson, Bill Hall, Bradley Stafford, Dennis Stafford, Gary (Butch) Hatton, J. M. Reeder, Todd Binion, and Matthew Lewis.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
