Gerald 'Richard' Pitts

Gerald 'Richard' Pitts, 72, of Knightstown, died Saturday, Nov. 26, at Regency Place in Greenfield.
He was born May 26, 1933, in Knightstown, a son of the late Allie and Endie (Morrison) Pitts.
A
lifelong resident of Knightstown, Mr. Pitts was a Knightstown High
School graduate. He was a United State Army veteran having served in
Germany. He retired from Delco-Remy Corporation in Anderson in 1982
after 30 years of service. Mr. Pitts was a member of American Legion
Post 152 and he enjoyed horse racing and spending time with his family.
Survivors
include a daughter, Brenda (husband, Frank) Young of Scottsville, Ky.; a
son, David (wife, Susan) Pitts of Lancaster, Ky.; six grandchildren;
eight great grandchildren; two step-grandsons; eight brothers and
sisters, Jewell (husband, Selbert) Braden of Anderson, Floyd Eugene
(wife, Mary) Pitts of Carthage, Harold (wife, Carolyn) Pitts of
Knightstown, Leonard (wife, Jo Ellen) Pitts of Dunreith, Betty Kise of
Knightstown, Mildred (husband, Larry) Houser and Judy (husband, Henry)
Neal, both of New Castle, and Dale Wayne, Sr., (wife, Jackie) Pitts of
Rushville; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death by five grandchildren; a
brother-in-law, Tom Kise; and a sister-in-law, Louise Pitts.
Funeral
services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral
Service in Knightstown with Rev. Charles Dugger officiating. Burial
followed at Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Military rites were
conducted by Knightstown American Legion Post 152. Visitation was 4-8
p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be
made to the Henry County Cancer Society with envelopes available at the
funeral home.
