Lola Mae Christian, 78, Topeka, died Tuesday, September 24, 1996, at her home. She was born August 4, 1918, at Goff, the daughter of Earl and Lillie Newdigate Brammer. Mrs. Christian was a bookkeeper for Palace Clothing Store, adn later for Donna's Gift Shop. She retired in 1986 from the office at Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Oakland Presbyterian Church, Echo Chapter of the American Business Women's Association, Mended Hearts and the Women's Club of Topeka. She also was a member of the Auxiliaries to Post No. 1650 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Mosse Lodge No. 555, Levick-Barrett Post No. 0282 of the American Legion at Wetmore, and the 42nd Division of Rainbow Veterans. She married Robert R. Christian on August 13, 1940, at Soldier. He survives. Other survivors include son, R. Roger Christian, Rossville; brothers, Floyd "Johnny" Brammer, Indianapolis, IN; Norman Branner, Kansas City, KS; sisters, Helen Geren, Topeka; Dorothy Smoot, Knightstown, IN; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter, Lana Kay Chrisitan Burhns on September 10, 1984. Services were held at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, Topeka. Burial was at Wetmore Cemetery.
