Stanton M. Alward,95, Kingman, died 7:10 am Tuesday in Ben Hur Home, Crawfordsville.

Mr. Alward owned his own auto repair garage at Marshall early in his life. He also farmed in the Grange Corner area, Parke County, and drove a school bus for the Marshall, Wallace and Southeast Fountain school corporations for many years.

His memberships included Wolf Creek Church; served two terms as trustee of Jackson Township School; was a 50-year member of the Wallace Masonic Lodge; and was past Master of the Wallace Low 12 Club. He attended school at Grange Corner.

He was born Nov. 15, 1906, at Grange Corner, to Jessie Eston and Iona Robbins Alward. He married L. Wandaline Lowe on Sept. 30, 1930. She died Feb. 22, 1996.

Survivors include a son, James Michael 'Mike', Kingman; a daughter, Nancy Baker,Logansport; two brothers, Leston 'Buss', Attica, and Johnny Q., Wallace; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled 10:30 am Friday in Wolf Creek Church, south of Wallace, with the Rev. Lester Niles officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 pm Thursday in Shoemaker Funeral Home, Waynetown.
