On a farm near Yeddo, Ind., the youngest daughter, Laura Vanetta, of John and Mary Bowers Sackmire was born on August 18, 1888. She passed away August 24, 1949, at 12:30 pm at the age of 61 years and seven days.

She was married to Monroe Gooding April 16, 1916, at the Lutherna parsonage, east of Wallace, and to this marriage one child, Stella, was born. Her husband died Jan. 19, 1940. Her entire married life was spent on the farm where she died except for a few years she lived in Wallace.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and two sisters.

Surviving are a daughter. Mrs. Dan Fox, at home, a grandson Daniel Wayne Fox, also at home, one sister, Mrs. Clara Palmer of Yeddo and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock (CST) Friday afternoon at the Wallace Christian church, with burial at the Lutheran cemetery. Rev. Noble Carothers will officiate. Friends may pay their respects at the residence after 5 pm Thursday.
