Pal B. Barker, age 78, of Holly Fork Road, Morehead, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2012, at his residence.

Born September 17, 1934, in Enterprise, Kentucky, he was the son of the late James and Goldie Glover Barker. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Delbert, Ralph, and Billy Barker, and one sister, Ernestine Tackett.

Survivors include his best friend, Irene Barker of Morehead, Kentucky; one daughter, Carol Johnson of Morehead, Kentucky; one sister, Eulane Stacy of Mansfield, Ohio; and three grandchildren, Benjamin Heckman, Kristian Cox, and Sierra Johnson.

Pal served in the U.S. Army from 1957-62. He retired from AK Steel in Mansfield, Ohio, and missed only one week of work during his 32 years with the company. He enjoyed playing cards and pool and was an avid turkey and deer hunter for a number of years.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 16, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Brother Jim Porter officiating. Burial will follow in the Cranston Cemetery with full military honors by Morehead American Legion Post No. 126.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation is after 6 p.m. Thursday, November 15, 2012, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.
