Emma
Alice Stone Ervin, age 92, of Garrison, Ky., passed away Friday
morning, January 11, 2013, in Southern Ohio Medical Center in
Portsmouth, OH.
She was born July 11, 1920, in Lewis County, Ky., a daughter of the late William Taylor and Serena Clark Stone.
Alice
was a member of Wrights Chapel Church and was retired from the U. S.
Postal Service in Garrison. She was a Christian for 76 years and enjoyed
sewing, piecing quilts, writing, going to church, and spending time
with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Henry Ervin, one
daughter, Geneva Sue Howard, five brothers, Bert Stone, Russell Stone,
twins Leslie Stone and Lester Stone, and Edwin Stone; and five sisters,
Ruth Ervin, Sadie Clark, Gertrude Isley, Lou Verna Stone, and Melissa
Stone.
Alice is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Lonnie
and Fay Ervin of Garrison, two daughters and a son-in-law, Juanita and
Lee May of Garrison and Joyce Ervin of Nashport, OH., one son-in-law,
Paul Howard of Lockbourne, OH., nine grandchildren, 28
great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves
many other family members, church family, neighbors, and friends who
will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.
Sunday, January 13, 2013, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Garrison,
Ky., with Brother Clarence Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the
Waring Cemetery in Garrison.

p.m. Sunday, January 13, 2013 at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103
Dudley Avenue, Garrison, Kentucky 41141.
Mike Sparks, Perry May, Steve Ervin, Ray Ervin, Aaron Howard, and Paul Howard will serve as pallbearers.
