Nina Gulley Hopper, 73, of Flemingsburg, passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe.  She was the widow of Gerald Dean “Joe Hop” Hopper.

Born in Muses Mills on July 26, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Jesse R. and Mary Smalley Gulley.

Nina worked as a cook at local area restaurants such as the Cozy Nook and the Townhouse Inn. She also worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide at Pioneer Trace. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren.  She attended Unity Baptist Church.

Nina is survived by her son, Christopher “Chris” Hopper; her daughters, Teresa Himes and husband Shannon, Lisa Vise and husband Mike; her grandchildren, Brad Dunaway, Justin Dunaway, Ashley Rigdon, Amber Hamilton and husband Danny, Kelsey Hopper, Jayden Hopper, and Brandon Vise and wife Kelly; her great grandchildren, Kayleah Dunaway,  Brailee Dunaway,  Dale Craig Eddington III,  Brooklynn Eddington,  Gideon Vise, and Charlie Lou Hopper; her siblings, Paul Gulley and Tracy  Gulley;   her special niece/sister, Peggy Miller; along with numerous extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband “Joe Hop”, Nina was preceded in death by 3 infant children; her siblings, Vivian Aline Sellers, Alma “Cricket” Muse, Mamie Swim, Bea Rice, Redia Helphenstine, Flora Rice, Naomi Beckett, Fredia Hllterbrand, Tommy Gulley, Bill Gulley, Elmer Gulley; her son-in-law, Mike Rigdon

Services will 11 a.m., Friday, October 26, 2018, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home with Bro. James Hickerson officiating.

Nina will be laid to rest in Fleming County Cemetery.  Pallbearers include Brad Dunaway, Justin Dunaway, Ashley Rigdon, Danny Hamilton, Tim Beckett, and Doug Gulley.  Granddaughters and great grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
