Mrs. Lona McCarty, 80, of 307-15th Street, Apt. F, formerly of Carter County, died Monday in King's Daughters' Hospital following an extended illness.

Mrs. McCarty was born February 1, 1897, in Carter County, a daughter of the late James William and Sibby Bowen Glover. When she resided in Grayson, she was a member of the Presbyterian Church and in Ashland, of the First Church of God.

Her husband, Eugene (Pat) McCarty preceded her in death. Surviving are a brother, Thomas Glover of Upper Tygart; four sisters, Mrs. Cecile Wallace, Mrs. Ina Gullett and Mrs. Nano Henderson, all of Ashland and Mrs. Elma [note spelling) Henson of Upper Tygart; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson by the Rev. Gary Ausbun. Burial will be in Grayson Memorial Cemetery.

The body is at the funeral home, where friends may call after 6 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the American Cancer Society.
