Former Johnson County resident, Jesse H. Bayes, 72, of Lucasville, OH, died Thursday, January 30. Mr. Bayes was born October 9, 1919 in Johnson County, the son of the late Franklin and Lula Lemaster Bayes. He was a retired carpenter, a member and deacon of Little Ettie Old Regular Baptist Church and a World War II Navy veteran. Surviving are his wife, Pauline Hitchcock Bayes; four sisters, Sarah Meade of Flat Gap, Lois Adkins of Elkfork, Martha Owens of Paintsville and Alka Daniels of Delaware, OH; and several nephews and nieces. Funeral services were held Sunday, February 2 at Little Ettie Old Regular Baptist Church in Pike County, OH, with Elders Paris Tackett, Ivory Sowards and Johny Thornberry officiating. Burial was in Salisbury Cemetery near Stockdale, OH with Erwin Dodson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
