Earl McKenzie, 63, of West Van Lear, Ky., died Monday morning at his home after an illness of several months. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Bethel United Baptist Church at Flat Gap by the Rev. T. J. Bailey and the Rev. Arnold Reed. Burial will be in the Estep Cemetery at Flat Gap. He was born June 20, 1904, in Johnson County, a son of the late James and Laura Mahan McKenzie. Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Cloma Estep McKenzie; two sons, James McKenzie of Hager Hill, Ky., and Charles Arnold McKenzie of Dayton, O.; four daughters, Mrs. Betty Pelphrey, Mrs. Phyllis Pelphrey and Donlyn McKenzie of Dayton, and Gail McKenzie of West VanLear; two sisters, Mrs. Maxie McCarty and Mrs. Ollie Long of Columbus; five brothers, Oscar McKenzie of Beaver, O., Halleck and Frank McKenzie of Volga, Ky., Powell of Flat Gap, and Beldon McKenzie of Dayton; and seven grandchildren. The body was taken to the home where friends may call after 11:00a.m. today from the Paintsville Funeral Home. Paintsville Herald
