Oil Springs resident, Mose Tackett, 83, died September 15 in Paul B. Hall Medical Center. Mr. Tackett was born May 1, 1903 in Johnson County, the son of Andrew J. and Melinda Jane Stafford Tackett. His first wife, Lina Hitchcock Tackett died in 1949. Surviving are his wife, Eva Howard Tackett; 2 sons, Willie Frances Tackett of Cookville, Tn and David Lee Tackett of Oil Springs; 2 daughters, Mildred Annalee Salyers of Flatwoods and Joan Jaynes of River; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held September 18 in Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Carl Howard and Dick VanHoose officiating. Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
